What WL 1 After Chart Means
Chart preparation happens 4-6 hours before the train departs from its source station. At this point, all confirmed, RAC, and cancelled seats are finalized. If your ticket shows WL 1 after chart, it means you did not receive a confirmed or RAC berth โ and you are the last person on the remaining waitlist.

E-ticket warning: Boarding with a WL e-ticket after chart is traveling without a valid ticket. This can result in a fine equal to the full ticket fare.
Refund for WL 1 E-Ticket
IRCTC automatically refunds WL e-tickets cancelled at chart within 5-7 business days. Clerkage deducted: Rs 60 (SL/2S), Rs 120 (3AC/CC), Rs 180 (2AC), Rs 240 (1AC). The remaining fare is refunded in full to your original payment method.
