RLWL 15 Confirmation Chances
RLWL stands for Remote Location Waiting List. If your PNR shows RLWL/15, you booked from an intermediate station that has its own separate quota โ not from the train's origin.
Confirmation Probability
RLWL/15 has moderate confirmation chances (35-45%) โ roughly 1 in 3 odds.
| Class | Approx. Confirmation Chance |
|---|---|
| Sleeper (SL) | 45% |
| 3rd AC (3A) | 36% |
| 2nd AC (2A) | 28% |
Why RLWL Is Harder to Confirm Than GNWL
RLWL is a smaller quota because it only covers seats from your boarding station to your destination. Only cancellations by passengers on the same intermediate leg free up your seat.
GNWL, on the other hand, benefits from all cancellations on the full train route, making it easier to confirm.
What Affects RLWL Confirmation?
- Route segment: Some intermediate segments are very popular; those see slower RLWL movement.
- Class: Sleeper class has a larger RLWL pool, so it confirms more often than 3AC or 2AC.
- Season: Festive seasons (Diwali, Holi, Eid) slow RLWL movement significantly.
After Chart Preparation
Unconfirmed RLWL tickets are automatically cancelled and refunded after chart preparation. You cannot travel on RLWL status after chart.
