Frequently Asked Questions

How do I check live train running status?+
Enter the 4–7 digit train number in the search box and click Check. The tool shows the train's current location, delay in minutes, and ETA at all upcoming stations.
How do I check status for a train that started yesterday?+
Use the journey date tabs below the search box. Select "Yesterday" or "2 days ago" β€” whichever day the train departed from its source station. Long-distance trains like Rajdhani and Duronto often take 2–3 days to complete their journey.
How accurate is the live train running status?+
Train status is sourced from NTES data and is typically accurate within 5–10 minutes. The page auto-refreshes every 2 minutes.
What does delay mean?+
Delay is the number of minutes the train is running behind its scheduled time. 0 means on time. A positive number (e.g. +45 min) means the train is that many minutes late.
Do I need to log in to IRCTC?+
No. PNR Alert's train running status tool is completely free and does not require any login or IRCTC account.
