RAC 20 Confirmation Chances
RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) means you have a guaranteed seat on the train, but you are sharing a berth with another passenger. RAC/20 means you are at position 20 in the RAC list.
Chances of Getting a Full Berth
RAC/20 has high chances of upgrading to a confirmed full berth (72-80%). More likely to confirm than not.

How RAC Upgrades to CNF
Every cancellation of a confirmed berth in the same class opens up a full berth. Railway TTE software assigns it to the first RAC passenger on the list. So RAC/20 upgrades only after passengers RAC/1 through RAC/19 have all been upgraded first.
Can I Board the Train With RAC 20?
Yes. RAC is a confirmed booking — you can board the train. You will be given a side-lower berth that you share with one other RAC passenger. If a cancellation happens, you may get a full berth assigned by the TTE.
What Happens After Chart?
After chart preparation, RAC/20 may still upgrade if confirmed passengers do not show up at departure. The TTE has the authority to upgrade RAC passengers even after the chart is made.
