What Is Train Schedule?
A train schedule (timetable) is the planned itinerary for every station on a train's route. It shows scheduled arrival time, departure time, halt duration, distance from origin, and day number for each stop.
How to Read a Train Schedule
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Arr | Scheduled arrival time at this station |
| Dep | Scheduled departure time from this station |
| Halt | Duration of stop (2 min for small stations, up to 20 min for major junctions) |
| Distance | Kilometres from the train's origin station |
| Day | Journey day (Day 1 = departure date from origin) |
How to Check Train Schedule
Go to Train Schedule on PNR Alert, enter the 5-digit train number, and see the complete timetable instantly. No login required.
Understanding the Day Number
For long-distance trains that run over multiple days, the Day column tells you which calendar day that station falls on. Day 1 is when the train departs from its origin. Day 2 means you reach that station on the following morning.
Train Schedule vs Live Running Status
The schedule is fixed and planned. Live running status shows actual movement and current delay. Use the schedule to plan your pick-up or drop-off, and live status on travel day to account for any delays.
