How much does GNWL move on the day of travel?

GNWL moves most in the 24-72 hours before departure, but last-minute cancellations still happen on travel day. GNWL 1-5 can confirm right up to chart preparation. GNWL 10-20 has limited movement on travel day but still possible. GNWL 30+ on travel day rarely moves — most passengers with higher numbers should have a backup plan.

Does GNWL confirmation happen automatically?

Yes — when a passenger ahead of you cancels, the GNWL queue automatically moves. You do not need to do anything. Your PNR status updates when your position moves up.

What time does GNWL stop moving today?

GNWL stops moving when the chart is prepared — approximately 4-6 hours before the train departs from its originating station. After that, your status is final: CNF, RAC, or cancelled WL.
